Dr. Patterson is a specialist in common and complex neurological disorders and musculoskeletal issues. He is an expert in electrodiagnostics (nerve conduction studies and electromyography) which aid in the diagnosis of nerve disorders. He utilizes non-surgical methods such as modalities, bracing, medications, physical therapy, spinal injections and neuromodulation for the treatment of acute and chronic pain disorders.
Dr. Patterson earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder and his medical degree at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He successfully completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
After residency, Dr. Patterson completed a comprehensive Interventional Pain Management Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He became dually board certified in Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2007.
Upon completion of his medical training, Dr. Patterson moved to Reno, Nevada. Since that time, he has been helping patients in the greater Reno area with acute and chronic pain needs.

Dr. Zollinger is a fellowship trained pain specialist dedicated to treating a wide array of pain disorders. He uses a comprehensive approach for treating acute and chronic pain, which includes therapies, modalities, x-ray guided spine injections, and neuromodulation. In addition, he has expertise in performing injections with ultrasound guidance. Ultrasound is an invaluable tool for improving the accuracy of many targeted injections.
For certain painful nerve disorders, Dr. Zollinger performs electrodiagnostic studies that can confirm or exclude a diagnosis.
Dr. Zollinger is originally from California. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. After medical school he successfully completed residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
After residency training, Dr. Zollinger completed an accredited interventional pain medicine fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Upon completing his fellowship, Dr. Zollinger moved to Reno, Nevada to join Nevada Advanced Pain Specialists.

Malynda Calkins earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Gerontology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She attended Physician Assistant school at MEDEX Northwest, a division of University of Washington Medical School.
As a Physician Assistant, Malynda has been trained with a broad medical education. She is able to work cooperatively with Dr. Patterson for the betterment of each patient. She is excited to be joining a dynamic practice and is grateful for the opportunity to help patients with acute and chronic pain.

Kim Radai, PA-C

Kim Radai is a Nevada native. She was born and raised in Fallon and got her start in medicine as a community EMT when she was 18 years old.
She joined the Navy in 1993 and served as a Hospital Corpsman for 10 years. Her time in the Navy allowed her to gain medical knowledge and to experience many different careers that healthcare had to offer. After serving in the Navy she decided she wanted to become a Physician Assistant.
In 2002, she started the MEDEX Physician Assistant program at the University of Washington in Seattle. She graduated from the program in 2004 with a Bachelor of Clinical Health Services degree and a Certificate of Physician Assistant Studies.
After graduating from the University of Washington, she returned to the Northern Nevada area and she worked as a Family Medicine Physician Assistant in the Fernley and Fallon area for 6 years. In 2010, she joined Nevada Advanced Pain Specialists in Reno as a Physician Assistant.
Kim finds the field of Pain Medicine both challenging and rewarding. Her goals are to help patients find the source of their pain, help reduce their pain, and to help patients return to life activities that they were unable to enjoy due to their pain.
